To minimize the impact on your computer, VCam does not have any video codecs installed by default. You can enable VCam to play various formats of video by installing the appropriate codecs.
Using the built-in codec
VCam installation directory such as “C:\Program Files (x86)\e2eSoft\VCam\Codec\LAVFilters” has 3 install_*.bat, run them with administrator privileges (Right click on the .bat file and select Run as administrator) and try running VCam again.
- Only the latest version of VCam has this directory;
- If you still have problems after LAVFilters registration, try turning off or on the hardware acceleration of your graphics card and try again;
- If it still doesn’t work, please rename the Codec directory to something else and try running VCam again.
Use a third-party codec
If the above methods don’t work, you can install third-party codecs, such as ADVANCED Codecs, Perfect Decode or others and try it.
It is recommended to use the newest alternative, WeCam, this should be less likely to happen.
